2025,
Recycled set building timber, found textured glass and found perspex mirror
Half Cut is a sculptural installation designed to sit in front of the large window in the lower gallery of East Quay, responding directly to the architecture of the space.
The structure incorporates panels to filter and block light including a textured, amber coloured glass panel that recalls the hue of beer. It holds the film
Always Pouring alongside a print of alchemical symbols, historically associated with brewing.
Made entirely from recycled timber and found materials, the structure also acts as a sustainable counterpoint to darkening gallery spaces in order to show film works.
Half Cut was made for
Down the Hatch (2025), a solo exhibition commissioned by East Quay, Watchet and funded by Arts Council England.
